I was born on the 25 of March 1963 in the village of Cárcer (Valencia, Spain). Here I started my musical studies, which I later continued at the Superior Conservatoires of Valencia and Madrid. My professors were Manuel Amorós, José Rosell and Francisco Burguera, as well as Miguel Torres Castellano, with which I perfected my technique in Madrid. After finishing my degree I attended several master courses with Vicente Zarzo, Adam Friedrich, Martín Hackleman, Ifor James, Daniel Bourgue, Dale Clevenger and Meir Rimon. In 1980 I won the first prize of the television contest "El mundo de la música" (TVE) and in 1981 the "Unión Musical Española" prize.

Since that same year I’m the solo horn of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid (resident of the Teatro Real). I was invited by the Chamber Orchestra "Reina Sofía" horn solo in all its activities since its creation and during 26 years. With these orchestras I’ve performed in such important concert halls as the La Scala theatre or the Manzoni theatre in Milano, Arena di Verona (Italy), the Accademia Santa Cecilia of Rome (The Vatican), the Nissay theatre of Tokyo (Japan), the San Carlo theatre in Lisbon (Portugal), The Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, as well as in other concert halls in Germany, Belgium, Holland, France, United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Portuga and Russian, and in important Festivals like Santander, Granada, Perelada, Arena di Verona, Geneva, Europalia International Arts Festival in Antwerpen and Edinburgh International Festival. I have done different recordings, including recordings for radio, cinema and television. My interest in chamber music has led me to belong to and work with various chamber groups, such as KOAN Group of Contemporary Music, with whom he collaborated on several occasions, ARSIS CAMERA group, variable training set, which I served from 1986 to 2000 and various chamber groups formed by the Soloists of the Symphony Orchestra of Madrid. I offer many concerts as a soloist. In them I’ve played different works by Spanish composers, three of which were composed expressly for me, the "Sonata 14, festera" by Claudio Prieto, the concert for Horn and Orchestra "Purple Voice" by Gabriel Fernandez Alvez, and the concert for Horn and Orchestra "Homage to Miguel Angel Colmenero" by José Susi. In addition I’ve collaborated with the following orchestras: Orquesta Municipal de Valencia, O.R.T.V.E, O.N.E. and The Moscow Virtuoses. Besides my activity as a musician, I’m a horn professor at Real Conservatorio Superior de Música of Madrid. I give horn classes during the rehearsal meetings of the Joven Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid and the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España. I have teached at the “50. Internationaler Sommerkurs der Jeunesses Musical Deutschland auf schloss Weikersheim”, at the meeting of the young musicians of the Academy of L’Orchestre National of Lyon celebrated in Autrans (Isère – France) and at the 26 international course of Music “Manuel de Falla” of Granada (Spain). I was the director of the International Music Course of San Javier (Murcia, Spain). I have written a book titled “La Trompa” (The horn), published by Ed. Mundimusica, which is mainly a technical study of the instrument and of its evolution. In collaboration with the Consejería de Educación y Cultura of the Community of Madrid I have recorded some didactic videos for the initiation in Music. In 2010 I obtained the title of Master in "Creation and Interpretation Musical" by the Rey Juan Carlos University. I was a founding member and have been the vice-president of the Asociación Española de Trompistas. |
